Base Camp

biblical and spiritual equipping of children for their journey with Christ

Taking place during the discipleship hour that follows after our worship service, Biblical And Spiritual Equipping (BASE) Camp is a thriving rotational-model program designed to help children grow in their biblical understanding of God, themselves, and the world. Children will be taught the same biblical story over a series of weeks through a variety of learning approaches.

We start with large group time, which includes singing, skits, and a short message. Then the kids break off with their age-appropriate group to attend one of the following workshops that day with their Sherpa:

  • Creation Station - relating to the story through the use of art and visual media
  • Rock-Solid Productions - reenacting and contemporizing the story through drama
  • Map It Out - making the story relevant to the issues of the world today
  • Apostles Workout - interpreting the story through large body movement, physical activities, and games
  • Zion Flicks - experiencing the story or a related biblical concept visually through film
  • Storytelling Tent - listening to a storyteller give an account through creative first-person narrative of the experience and activities related to the story
  • The Table - preparing and eating food applicable to the story or as a related illustration
